One man, a tiny shop and a big love for good food and good music.
Pat took leave from his job and sold his house to open a tosti bar. On 6 June 2020, in the middle of the corona crisis, he opened the doors on Saroleastraat. His philosophy: as long as I can earn my tosti from it, I'm happy.
A small place, retro 70s decor, vinyl and music memorabilia on the walls, work by local Heerlen artists, and historical photos of the city from 1920. Pat works the grill himself, chats with everyone and plays whatever fits the day.
After a few years the shop was extended and refurbished. The facade was restored together with local artists. The tosti menu grew with vegan options, organic smoothies and kombucha.
Outside the bar, Pat also organises music nights at Filmhuis de Spiegel. A David Bowie tribute, a Nirvana evening. Culture and food go hand in hand here.
